The Animae Caribe animation and new media festival (AC) reserves the right to determine the eligibility of the submissions to be screened at the festival, the appropriate venues and time slots for the screening of films, and to use excerpts of the films for publicity purposes.
All submitted animations must have applicable clearances; AC will not be held liable for oversights or negligence.
AC takes place in Trinidad and Tobago.
The official language of the festival is English. Submit with English subtitles where necessary.
Any animated short film made for cinema, television or the Internet may be entered.
Only works completed within 2 years of submission date will be accepted.
Deadline for submissions is August 30 2016.
There is no entry or registration fee.
Submit in format: .mov | codec: H264 or ProRES 422 | aspect: 16:9 or 16:10 (If produced for TV 4:3 is acceptable) | resolution: 1280 x 800 or 1920 x 1080 | NTSC preferred but PAL is accepted.
Maximum size for online submission is 2GB. Unlimited size via post.

Committee and Juries
The Organising Committee of AC appoints the members of the Selection Committee and the International Jury. The Jury will be made up of 65% foreign personalities and animation/new media professionals
By submitting an entry form to the Animae Caribe animation and new media festival participants accept, without reservation, the festival's terms and regulations. By the same token, participants declare that they are the owners of copyright and distribution rights of submitted work.
It is important for us to recognize and award animators who contribute to the development of this industry. Animators are invited to submit their pieces for judging by an international panel who review and select the winners. Winners are announced at the Award ceremony.
MOST OUTSTANDING ANIMATION This award is given to the most impressive submission using animation, graphics, electronically generated or any other experimental images that shows exceptional visual and aural creativity, a mastery of craft skills, uniqueness, innovation and initiative.
MOST OUTSTANDING CARIBBEAN ANIMATION This is awarded to the most outstanding animation submitted from Caribbean territories. The festival is a platform for Caribbean animation; as such this award recognises Caribbean content producers that develop their craft.
MOST PROMISING NEWCOMER This is awarded to first time submissions to AC that impress the judges. Judges look for creativity, originality and audience appeal.
MOST SUCCESSFUL COMMERCIAL ANIMATION Awarded to outstanding animation used in the commercial industry. Examples include: television commercials, music videos and website content.
MOST SUCCESSFUL STUDENT ANIMATION Judges award this to animations created by students enrolled in any training facility. Recipients demonstrate exceptional potential and promise. Applicants must include the name of the institution attended and training attained.
PEOPLE CHOICE AWARD This award is determined at the end of the festival by viewers votes.
Submitters are invited to the festival, not funded by AC. Developers of selected films who attend the festival are given access to all workshops, screenings and seminars during the festival.
